Modeling Cell Fate
The next Conférence Jacques Monod in Developmental Biology, « Modeling Cell Fate », will take place in Roscoff, Brittany, on 19-23 Nov 2018.
Deadline for applications: 15 Aug. 2018, at https://cjm5-2018.sciencesconf.org/
For info: http://www.cnrs.fr/insb/cjm/2018/Bally-Cuif_e.html
This CJM will place emphasis on characterizing and modeling the dynamics of cell fate choices. In the context of living organisms, we will progress through all analysis scales, from the biophysics, biochemistry and 4D organization of the intracellular space and single molecules to the morphogenesis and functional assembly of the tissue. The conference program will be divided into 5 thematic sessions: (1) Emerging properties of cell populations; (2) Cell interactions sculpting tissues; (3) Physical properties of cells; (4) Cell lineages in embryos and tissues; (5) Stochasticity of gene regulation in patterning. We have an exceptional list of speakers, including experimentalists but also theorists of the mathematics and physics fields.
Overall, this scientific program will address the most emerging issues of developmental biology questions and concepts, in an interdisciplinary manner, and will serve as a forum for scientists of biology, physics and mathematics backgrounds to interact.
There are planned slots for short talks and for posters, and there will be ample time and opportunities for discussions. Students and postdocs are encouraged to apply.
The conference is eligible for tebu-bio travel grants (see https://www.tebu-bio.com/cms/1081/Get_your_400EUR_tebu_bio_Travel_Grant.html for the next draws).
